What I'm about

I was born and raised in Brisbane before moving to Melbourne when I was 21 where my first professional job was sitting in Bert Newton’s spare office opening the mail for Good Morning Australia (#glamour). I soon moved into the Channel 10 Publicity team and worked on promoting shows like Australian Idol, Big Brother, Neighbours, The O.C, and about 1,000 more. The pinnacle of that experience was meeting Johnny Young, obviously.

I then did the Aussie in London thing and began working in the media team for classic cop TV show your parents watched, The Bill. Canada came calling and I was off again, loving life in Toronto before settling in Sydney.

I’ve been a professional writer and editor ever since.

I have worked for Prevention, Home Beautiful, and OK! magazines. I’ve also spent time in the agency trenches, working for King Content for clients like Expedia, Swisse, Rexona, Singtel and a tonne more. And I was the Program and Content Manager for Weight Watchers Australia/New Zealand.

My most recent gig is working for Australian Catholic University (ACU), churning out content about studying, life on campus, and cutting-edge research that counts.

Shuffling words around and putting them in an interesting order is what I do best. As I’ve written professionally about Kardashians, couches, calories, and Catholicism, you can see my experience is broad and I like it that way.

I have a couple of degrees and am about to finish a Master of Digital Marketing – check out my LinkedIn for that sort of jazz.

Come say hi at christinasextonwrites@gmail.com, I won’t mind.

TL;DR – I’m a writer/editor
